of talents was showcased! Our hats off to these great performers.
and performing arts will always be her passion and part of her life. Belle was
born and raised in the Philippines. At a tender age of 8, she used to sing, dance
and act on TV (Channel 7's Eskuwelahang Munti). She was always a part of school's
program, music competition and church choir. When she became a Rotary Exchange
Scholar in New York, she was given the Orion Music Award for her involvement in
school's choir, band and inter-regional choir competition. In college, she was
all over the Philippines as one of the regular performers of the University of
the Philippines' (U.P.) Mobile Theatre under the directorship of Wilfrido Ma.
Guerrero, hailed as National Artist for Theatre. In 1997, as one of ambassadors
to Sweden under the Rotary International's Group Study Exchange program, she performed
some Philippine cultural folkdances . Now, she is part of FIL-AM's cultural dance
group as co-chair and co-choreographer. She loves to dance to stay vibrant and
healthy, a zumba enthusiast for which she obtained her certification.
AGUIRRE - My name is JR also known as Auditory Stimuli. I've lived a majority
of my life in Oceanside. I'm Filipino-Mexican but sorry, I don't speak either
language; although, I wish I did. My kids and wife are my world, they make me
who I am. I enjoy expressing myself through my music and I hope to inspire others
to do the same. Heart and creativity create stimuli for your ears.
Marie Hollander is an insightful and spirited eight-year old who is strong
in her faith, passionate about dance, loves horses and can't say no to chocolate.
She is the daughter of Matt and Josie Hollander, and she shares her Filipino heritage
with her mother. She also has two younger brothers, Jaxon and Maxwell. Maison
currently attends second grade at St. Patricks in Carlsbad, where she is
at the top of her class and participates in the Reading Club and Brownie Scouts.
She started dancing at Oceanside Dance Academy when she was four years old. She
studies tap, ballet, lyrical and jazz, with tap being her strongest style of dance.
Her dedication and passion for this art have earned her top awards and scholarships
at dance competitions and conventions over the past two years at both regional
and national levels. She currently holds the title of San Diegos Miss Petite
Spotlight. When she grows up, Maison would love to teach tap and work with horses.
Lynn Franklin is 8 years old and lives in Oceanside with her parents, Kellie
and Pat, and her younger brother Cash. She attends the third grade at Nichols
Elementary and has been on the Honor Roll for the past 2 years. She has also booked
a national commercial along with various model/print work. When she was three
years old, she took her first dance class at Oceanside Dance Academy, and joined
their competition team at age four. She studies lyrical, ballet, tap, jazz and
hip hop and enjoys bringing her talents to award-winning numbers at regional and
national competitions. Rylie lives for dance, loves all things dance and yearns
to be a dance teacher when she grows up. She has a zest for life that is fierce
and she has more energy in her pinky finger than most people have in their entire

LAZAGA - was born in Oakland, CA back in 1992. He currently resides in Oceanside,
CA where he attends Mira Costa College, majoring in Kinesiology. James began dancing
during his Junior year in high school after experiencing a concussion playing
for the football team. During high school, James formed both a dance team and
a dance club that are still active at the school he attended. James specializes
in many styles of dance such as: Tutting, Choreo, Popping, and Krumping. Today,
James teaches choreography at El Camino High as a guest choreographer and engages
himself in dance classes at Mira Costa College. James soon hopes in the near future
to become well known and appreciated for his dancing and accomplishments.

NANG - Dacey "Mikayla" Nang is currently a third grade student and
is consistently on the honor roll at St. Joseph's Academy in San Marcos. "Mikayla",
as she is called by many, was born in Oceanside and lives in Carlsbad, CA with
her family. Her father, Ron, is an air-traffic controller supervisor and her mother,
Marie, owns and operates a Kumon Math and Reading Center in Carlsbad and Encinitas.
Mikaylahas an older sister"Monique" and a younger brother"Mateo".
Mikayla loves to dance and sing. She is taking voice lessons under Debbie Nicastro.
She also plays the flute in her school band. Mikayla's favorite subject is math

ORTEGA - Jacqueline Forbes Ortega, 43 years young - is amother of four beautiful
girls.She is the wife of Mr. Jacir 'Roy' Ortega, a proud owner of Manhattan's
Giant Pizza that's been in Mission Ave, Oceanside for over 28 years. Jacqueline
is our very own Mrs. Fil-Am 2008. She loves going to karaoke and enjoys watching
live bands. She also takes some time to make people smile when she know's they
need it the most. Jacqueline will be singing 'Guhit ng Palad' originally sung

My name is Stephanie Paz. Im 14 years old and I was born
on the island of Guam. Im a freshman at El Camino High School in Oceanside.
Some of my favorite hobbies are drawing, singing, playing sports, writing, baking,
dancing, and photography. Im currently involved in Hip Hop Club, Chamber
Choir, and Volleyball at El Camino High School, and Youth choir and Trinity choir
at San Luis Rey Parish. Im looking to be a veterinarian in the future. And
most importantly, I love food.

My name is Katherine Sinsuan! I grew up in the Philippines and came to
U.S on my college years here in Oceanside. I love to play my guitar, chill out
at church with the music ministry and read the bible. Music is my passion ever
since I was a kid. I started singing when I was 4 and playing my guitar during
my high school years. My inspiration through my talent would be God, my Sister
and my Parents. All I wanted in life is to share my music bringing joy and happines

Born in 1993, Karrl Vitor is a Filipino who is also a self-taught guitarist.
He started learning how to play the guitar and sing at the age of 16. He just
graduated from Chaparral High School, where he took part in Chamber Choir, and
is now currently enrolled in California State University San Marcos majoring in
Kinesiology. Aside from music, he enjoys drawing, writing, running, and giraffes.
He has enjoyed listening and gotten inspiration from Mumford and Sons, Cueshe,
Secondhand Serenade, and many other bands.

My name is Janelle Murphy. I am 14 years old and just graduated the 8th
Grade at Chavez Middle School. I am the only freshman who made the Oceanside Varsity
Dance Team in 2 years. I excel in math allowing me to join a 10th/11th grade Algebra
ll Honors class. Several years ago my father, a PhD. graduate, passed away. His
example helped me emphasize the monumental importance of education in shaping
my future, and motivates me to be the hard worker I am today. My main ambition
is to graduate with honors from my ideal college, UC Berkley, with a law degree.
During weekends, I volunteer at the local library or at Oceanside Dance Academy.
What I particularly like about my volunteer work is helping the children; I really
connect with younger kids. Dance is my passion. I have been competing for Oceanside
Dance Academy for 7 years in regional and national competitions, but I started
dancing when I was 5. I take ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, contemporary and Pointe
lessons. I have recently been awarded a "Judges Award" in Best Strength
for the Starbound Competition and a Double Platinum Award in the Star Quest Competition
for my solo. Competing around California is exciting and presents me with an opportunity
to build confidence, self esteem and meet interesting people.
