On June 6, 2015, marks the 14th Annual Filipino Cultural Day. As a tradition, it was held on a Saturday on or before the June 12th Philippine Independence Day, at the Oceanside Civic Center, Plaza and Library from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. This year's theme is "The PHILIPPINES: The Jewel of Southeast Asia, A Colorful Celebration of its Citizens, Costumes, Cuisine & Culture".

True to its theme, the Philippines were showcased with cultural play, dance and music; fashion show of traditional costumes, video of how to cook Filipino food, pageants of all ages and vendors of Filipino food. In spite of many Philippine celebrations in San Diego County at the same day, this event was memorable with its huge attendance of the public and vendors! Celebrities like the well-known Filipino-American dermatologist Dr. Tess Mauricio and famous Filipino actor Gabby Concepcion graced the occasion. High-caliber performances by Global Pinoy Idol Alessja Morales & Amy Monson entertained the close to 1000 audience.

Featured guest speakers for the event are Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood and Keynote Speaker Manny Ilagan, OIC Director of the Philippines Department of Tourism. Other dignitaries in attendance included Audie de Castro, Philippine Honorary consul in San Diego.

It was truly a historic event for FACO to be remembered!!
